Course Description: 

In this course, students examine the events that occurred from the late eighteenth century to the present day and analyze the major turning points that shaped the modern world. The year begins with an introduction to the rise of democratic ideas in the Western world and then continues to focus on the expansion of the West and the growing interdependence of people and cultures throughout the world.
