About the Assistant Principal

  • Dr. Martinez was born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from LAUSD's Thomas Jefferson High School, he attended the University of Southern California (USC), earning a Bachelor of Science in General Studies Education with a teaching credential. He earned a Master of Arts in Computer Education from the California State University of Los Angeles (CSULA). He also earned a Master of Education with a preliminary administrative services credential from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Martinez returned to the University of Southern California, where he earned a Doctorate in Education. 

    Dr. Martinez was a classroom teacher for 11 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. He served eight years in several elementary school leadership positions--intervention coordinator, English Learner designee, and Title 1 coordinator. In addition, he was also an instructional coach in the Alvord Unified School District. 

    Dr. Martinez joined the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ in October 2022 and is excited to be the assistant principal at Mango Elementary and  Poplar Elementary.
