The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) is an academically challenging, balanced programme of pre-university education that meets the needs of highly motivated secondary students in the eleventh and twelfth grades. The goals of the IB are to ensure "intellectual rigor and high academic standards, to teach young people to relate the experiences of the classroom to the outside world, and to assist students in becoming critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and informed participants" in their communities and in the world. The program fosters an international perspective by encouraging students to understand and to value others cultural perspectives. Jurupa Hills High School was accepted as an IB world school by the Director General of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) of Geneva, Switzerland in February 2011, thereby authorizing the school to offer the Grade 11-12 Diploma Program beginning in the fall of 2012.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
