Our Mission Statement:
We aim to improve the quality of education for African American students by empowering parents to recognize the impact of their involvement as it relates to student
achievement.
Our Purpose:
The purpose of this Advisory Council is to work collaboratively with Summit High
School, ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ (FUSD) and its Board of Education regarding
the services and programs Summit offers it’s African-American Students. The Council
will advise Summit administration and FUSD regarding, but not limited to, the following:
- To improve the quality of education for African-American students by raising the
level of awareness in our community about cultural learning differences and
promoting an understanding among parents, educators, and others of the
culturally sensitive issues facing African-American students.
- To engage African-American Parents in the process of working collaboratively
with Summit High School and the District in establishing program goals and objectives
of African-American students.
