School Counselor's Vision
My vision is to help create and nurture Redwood Elementary's School's environment, where students are exposed and actively partake in meaningful and enganging, academic, career, and social/emotional experieces which will prepare them for college and life.Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Eduardo Valencia and I am the new School Counselor at Redwood Elementary school for the 2016-2017 school year. I would like to tell you a little bit more about myself and how I will be working with your student(s) this year.
I have been working as a Counselor for 19 years, the last fourteen at the elementary school level. I have experience working in elementary, middle, and high school students. I am extremely honored to have served Redwood for 5 years and look forward to our 6th year. I speak fluent spanish and english, and look forward not just to continue working with our students, but the parents as well. My door is always open, please feel free to stop by any time, am in room 31.
This year at Redwood Elementary I will continue working with your student(s) individually, in small groups, via class presentations, or school wide events. We will be working on issues like anger management, bullying, social skills, behavior, attendance, motivation, college, and career etc.
I plan to continuing building on the excellence of our school, and continue developing and nurturing our leadership group (ASB), which I introduced 6 years ago, and which continues to help improve the culture of our school. Also, I plan to continue planning events that will promote a college going culture, such as College Day, and Career Day. I definitely want to keep parents informed, and work with them as much as possible. Therefore, I wil present with our principall, during his meetings, when necessary.
I will be closely collaborating with our principal, Mr. Gomez, our teachers, and staff. I am looking forward to working closely with all of you to help your student be successful. Again, please feel free to drop by, call, or email me if you want to talk about your student or have any questions/concerns. I am here at Redwood on Thursdays, Fridays and every other Wednesday.
Sincerely,
Eduardo Valencia, MS, PPS
