Miss Moreno
Miss Moreno was hired at the end of the 2018/2019 school year. She may be fairly new to our campus, but she has been a wonderful addition to our staff. She has quite the experience in the librarian setting as she previously worked at the San Bernardino County library. Her love of books knows no bounds. So don't hesitate to stop by and say hello, and ask for some new book recommendations.

How did you become a Librarian?
Posted by: Gaby RuizI always loved reading growing up, and so I always wondered how I could turn that into a career. It wasn't until I got older that I realized I could become a librarian.

As an elementary school librarian, what seems to be the most popular books among the children?
Posted by:The kids really seem to love the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey, as well as the Diary of a Whimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. Graphic novels are also really popular. I always get requests for these books.
-
Who are your favorite authors?
Posted by:My personal favorite authors are Sherman Alexie, and Sandra Cisneros. They are both nonfiction authors with rich interesting backgrounds.
-
What is your favorite book?
Posted by:That's so hard to choose! Well two of my favorite books are Rain of Gold by Victor Villasenor and Shattered Dreams by Irene Spencer. (laughs) They are nonfiction novels as well.

Lastly, what is your favorite part of working at a library?
Posted by:I love the variety of book subjects that you can learn from. I feel like reading, in any subject, really does expand your imagination. So I defintely want to encourage students to branch out and read as many subjects as they can.
