Performance Matters Testing
-
Performance Matters is FUSD’s new and improved online testing platform where students will take district-created and teacher-created assessments. CFAs and teacher-created tests are some examples of the kinds of assessments students will take on the new platform. CAASPP and MAP tests will continue to be administered to students on their respective platforms. However, Performance Matters includes a student portal where students can view results from all of their different assessments (CAASPP, MAP, and CFAs) in one place. (If you have questions about your student’s test results, please contact your student’s school.) This new platform will help students to easily access important information and will be available in August 2021.
WHAT ARE TEACHER-CREATED ASSESSMENTS AND WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?- TEACHER-CREATED assessments are tests teachers create and use before, during, and after instruction to guide student learning. Some examples of teacher-created assessments include quizzes, tests, or projects.
- The results of the assessments provide teachers and students with information about student learning and help teachers plan next steps for instruction.
WHAT ARE CFAs?
- Students are required to take at least three Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) throughout the school year. These three CFAs are assessments that teachers have designed and planned with a team of teachers (usually within the same department and/or grade level) and can be any combination of site, district, and state-created tests.
HOW DO SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS USE THE RESULTS FROM CFAs?
- CFAs provide students and teachers with frequent data to inform teachers and students about their learning.
- CFAs support teachers working together to constantly improve instruction for ALL students.
- CFAs may be used by teachers to inform student progress for grading purposes, but grading is not the primary purpose of a CFA.
