Our mission at ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ (FUSD) is to prepare nearly 33,000 students to successfully pursue a viable career or enter higher education, and become future-ready and positively impact the world. Our rigorous academic programs have been nationally recognized, as well as our 52 Career Technical Education paths that directly prepare students for a wide range of high-wage, high-demand careers.

For the first time in almost twenty years, the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ Board of Education has approved a $408 million school construction bond for the General Election on November 5, 2024. Measure I will not only improve and modernize classrooms in our local schools, but it will also provide essential resources to better prepare our children for future careers and college.
Measure I projects include:
- High School College Preparedness & Career Training Programs and Facilities: Expanding programs to include robotics, coding, medical assistant training, emergency responder training and construction.
- Modernizing STEAM Labs: Enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics facilities for cutting-edge education.
- Ensuring Safe Accessibility: Updating facilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Critical Infrastructure Updates: Replacing deteriorating and leaky roofs and updating wireless internet systems.
Measure I also guarantees numerous taxpayer protections, including:- Guaranteed Local Control of All Spending: By law, Measure I funds cannot be taken by the state and must be spent on our local schools.
- Transparency and Accountability: Full public disclosure of ALL spending, Independent citizen oversight and annual audits ensure responsible use of funds.
- State Matching Funds Eligibility: Measure I qualifies Fontana USD for additional state matching funds, maximizing your investment.
³ÉÈËÊÓƵ has used resources from our previous 2006 school bond very carefully to ensure the purposeful use of public resources. Measure I protects our community’s most valuable assets while providing our children with the resources to thrive. WHAT IS MEASURE I?
Measure I is a general obligation (GO) bond measure on the November 5, 2024, Presidential Election ballot. If approved by 55% of district votes cast, Measure I will authorize $408 million to improve schools and classrooms throughout the ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ. In addition, Measure I will allow the district to qualify for state matching funds.

HOW MUCH WILL MEASURE I COST?
Measure I ‘s estimated average annual tax rate is less than $52 per $100,000 of assessed valuation. Assessed valuation should not be confused with market value. The assessed valuation is the value placed on the property by San Bernardino County and is typically lower than market value.

WHAT IS A GO BOND?
California school districts commonly use GO bonds to fund improvement projects, such as constructing and renovating classrooms. Similar to a home loan, GO bonds are repaid over time. Funds to repay the bonds come from a tax on all taxable property—residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural—located within the district.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE INCLUDED IN MEASURE I?
- Expanding high school career and technical education programs and facilities for robotics, coding, medical assistant, emergency responder and construction courses.
- Renovating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) classrooms and labs.
- Repairing and replacing inefficient heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
- Updating classroom technology, wireless networks and infrastructure.
- Installing keyless point-of-entry access and emergency communication and security systems.
- Replacing deteriorating portable classrooms.
- Providing shade structures in outdoor areas.
- Installing additional fencing, security cameras and lighting.
- Upgrading aging electrical wiring and systems.
- Repairing and replacing leaky roofs and plumbing systems.
- Creating greater accessibility to classrooms, restrooms and walkways in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

WHAT TAXPAYER PROTECTIONS ARE IN PLACE?
Measure I ensures that there will be full public disclosure of all spending. An independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee must review and report on all bond expenditures, and a third-party auditor must audit all bond expenditures. Measure I includes a specific list of projects on which bond funds may be spent. Laws prohibit funds from being used for administrators’ salaries, pensions, or benefits. Measure I bond funds must be spent on ³ÉÈËÊÓƵ’s projects and cannot be taken by the state.

HOW DO I VOTE BY MAIL?
All registered voters in California will receive a vote-by-mail ballot. If you need to register to vote, you can register online at . Once you complete your ballot, sign your ballot envelope and simply drop your ballot in the mail—postage is prepaid—by November 5, 2024.
